The Learning Conference develops cognitive control and strengthens a growth mindset by allowing students an opportunity to dissect a challenge, resolve it, and retell the process in a self-narrative. It develops strategic thinking by allowing students to make goals that can be applied to novel situations. It develops agency and persistence through a process of self-narratives, which over time help to develop a more coherent academic core narrative.
